Motorbike stunt riding is a rising sport in the United Kingdom and the United States. However, United States law prohibits "stunting" motorbike on public roads and it can even land you in jail quickly. If you are buying a second-hand motorbike then you must check whether anyone has done stunt on this bike. Take a test for horizontal spots on the front tire, which shows you that the bike has done some wheelies. You must check for the scratches, which could have resulted from a crash. Motorbike stunt can trash engines, transmissions and the suspension, so be careful unless you intend to use your bikes in the same way, as a stunt bike.

Wear your protective gear. Anytime you are performing a stunt on a dirt bike, safety should always come first. Wear protective clothing and protective pads to prevent injury. Most importantly, wear a helmet to prevent any damage that can be caused from stunting.Reach full speed. For almost every stunt that can be performed on a dirt bike, speed is imperative to do the trick. Practice riding your dirt bike at full speed until you have gotten the feel for the speeds in which you will need to do stunts.

Not all of us out there have the funds to purchase a brand new bike, so naturally we take the second hand route. This can be very rewarding, but also very risky if you are unsure what exactly you are looking at. Bikes can be 'made' to LOOK great with a little clean over, but often this is just done to hide the truth about the condition of the bike itself. In this lens, I hope to open your eyes a little and give you a very short insight into where to look and what to look for when buying a second hand bike

Saturday January 17th, leaving snow to get to 70s and sunny. Destination Orlando, Florida, the current home of the Stunt Wars 2010 US Open. Stunt Wars is one of my personal favorite competitions. Much of my family lives close to the venue so I am able to catch up and practice all week at my top secret stunt spot. Snow has been falling in Connecticut since Thanks Giving making it hard to practice. But cobwebs are quickly dusted off with 6 hour practice sessions! One good thing about living in a snowy climate is that you can wrench on your bike when you’re staring out the window like a twelve year old wishing you could ride. Dave Bolognese, my ace mechanic, and I had taken care of that feat and my bike was tight!

Without going into heavy bikes to start with, if possible pick up a lighter bike to practice with, such as a dirt bike or postie bike. This will provide you with experience in moving your weight from one side to another during changing corners or lane changes. Once you are more comfortable with shifting your weight, then it is time to purchase your real bike for that advanced experience.

Learn to give yourself plenty of room to move around on the road. If there are oncoming cars, then learn to buffer yourself from other cars. Visibility is the key to staying safe on the road. It helps as a first time rider, to wear bright cloths. This will not make you an easy object to view at night, but it will also allow you to wear some protective bike gear which is both safe and fashionable. Highly reflective gear is important especially for oncoming traffic, so they are able to spot you from a far distance.

Motorbike rider who do not do motorbike stunts also used frame sliders. It should not be considered as a substitute for a cage when learning how to stunt. Although frame sliders will cut the damage to the plastics and certain parts of the bike, they are not enough to keep from cracking motor gear and or cracking the frame itself.
