Basket Ball

Before Rudy Fernández hit all four of his three point attempts on his way to 15 points in the Blazer’s 107-84 win over the Timberwolves, Fernández has been playing woefully off the bench for Portland. Rudy averaged just 6.5 points on 29% shooting in the six games previous. After scoring a career-high 24 points and grabbing 8 rebounds, Oleksiy Pecherov has played just eight minutes in the last two games. The 7-o center from the Ukraine has scored just 8 points in the last four games for the Minnesota Timberwolves and it’s not looking good after head coach Kurt Rambis said this after Pecherov’s career high, “One game is not a breakthrough. I think any player in this league is capable of playing a good game once in a while. It’s very difficult to be consistent in this league.”A reoccurring back injury is limiting Golden State’s Andris Biedriņš from consistent minutes. Biedrins sat out a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on a Friday, then suited up for Sunday’s game against Sacramento but ended up tweaking his back. He’ll miss up to two weeks and has already missed the last two games – Biedrins didn’t accompany the Warriors on their current five-game road trip.
